The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is optimistic that Indonesia can achieve its 8% economic growth target. Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Arsjad Rasjid, said that Kadin has prepared seven priority strategies so that the target can be achieved.
‘The first is integrated, accessible and affordable infrastructure. Second, building health security and transforming health services. Third, realising energy security. Fifth, accelerating the growth of MSMEs. Sixth, building the world's largest green business development centre and seventh is building an independent food security ecosystem,’ Arsjad said (17/10/2024).
Arsjad added that 8% economic growth requires an additional Gross Domestic Product of around Rp400-Rp500 billion. If these seven strategies are implemented, they can contribute 80% of the additional GDP needed.
‘I am sure that the 8% target can be achieved, by what means, with the seven priority strategies that we have prepared. Because we have calculated. This strategy is compiled by Kadin Indonesia in a white paper. This white paper will formulate recommendations and policy directions as well as economic development,’ said Arsjad.
Kadin Indonesia, Arsjad continued, will launch the ‘Whitepaper on Development Directions and Policies in the Economic Sector for 2024-2029’ which contains strategic policy recommendations to achieve the 8% economic growth target. The launch of this document is an important moment to present findings and solutions to the public and relevant stakeholders.
